GEORGE F. HIXON FELLOWSHIPS
In 1983, the Kiwanis Children’s Fund established the George F. Hixson Fellowship, named for Kiwanis International’s first president.
Hixson Fellowships are awarded to donors who give $1,000 or more to the Children’s Fund. It’s a way of recognizing people who have contributed significantly to Kiwanis’ history of generosity.
Individuals or clubs or a combination may contribute to the donation. Any donation by the club would be to recognize individual members for the contribution of service to the club and community.

The Luis V. Amador recipients are recognized by their clubs or individuals with a donation of $500 to the Illinois Eastern Iowa District’s Kiwanis Neuroscience Research Foundation (formerly Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation). The Foundation had its beginning in 1951 desiring to support research into Spastic Paralysis and other diseases of the brain and neurological system including Spina Bifida, Alzheimers, Essential Tremors and, Parkinson’s diseases.

The Walter Zeller Fellowship is awarded to a person that contributed or had contributed in their name $1,000 to support the Kiwanis International / UNICEF effort to eradicate Maternal & Neo Natal Tetanus in the World during the years 2010 thru 2021.
